To plan, to set goals, to save, to retire and to live.

What Is the Process?

Cash Management

If you're like many of our clients, you probably maintain a number of accounts, each to handle a different aspect of your finances. Your Wellington and York Partners' advisor can help to offer you a complete view of your investments and cash holdings - from money market accounts to cheque writing and debit cards - so your finances are easier to control.

Financial Planning

In its broadest sense, the process of financial planning is designed to combine your goals and objectives with the products, services and strategies appropriate to achieve them. The financial plan is typically a written document(s) that addresses various aspects of your personal finances which may include: cash flow management, education planning, retirement planning, investment planning, risk management and insurance planning, tax planning, estate planning and business succession planning (for business owners). Your Wellington and York Partners' advisor is ready to lend his/her experience and expertise to help you craft a custom financial plan.

Income Replacement

If you are in the accumulation phase of your life - your working career - you will most likely have recurring expenses that need to be met to support yourself, your spouse and children. Becoming temporarily or permanently disabled can have a potentially devastating impact on your ability to manage these expenses if your income goes away. With careful planning, and resources like disability insurance or disability benefits from Social Security, you may be able to provide protection to make sure you have a level of income continuity. Ask your Wellington and York Partners' advisor what strategy is best for your needs.

Information Protection

In our information-driven world, it is important to manage and protect your personal and financial information. There are many available resources to help you do this. These resources include strategies and practices to minimize the risk of identity theft as well as specific ways to maintain the organization and safety of your important financial documents and other information. Your Wellington and York Partners' advisor can assist you with these challenges.

Portfolio Construction

When you think of some of the world's greatest structures like the Great Wall of China, the Egyptian Pyramids or the Roman Coliseum, you will notice that they all share the attributes of skillful design and solid foundations. These same attributes apply to your advisor when he or she builds your investment portfolio. Your Wellington and York Partners' advisor will draw on years of experience, education and training to meet your specific goals and objectives.

Portfolio Review

Your Wellington and York Partners' advisor will routinely discuss your investment portfolio with you to review investment performance and determine if any changes to your plan or mix of assets is recommended.

Private market investing has increased in complexity over the past few years and it is more important than ever to apply an interdisciplinary approach. Besides investment skill, it takes considerable specialist expertise to accurately assess the risks inherent to private markets investing and enhance portfolio construction accordingly.

We have a dedicated portfolio and risk management team which is independent of the investment teams and comprises quantitative specialists and risk managers. Among other tasks, this team is responsible for quantitative measurement and management of portfolio risks for our programs and mandates to ensure adherence to investment guidelines and portfolio strategies while limiting portfolio risks as well as taking responsibility for our clients achieving and maintaining an ideal investment level.
